After 15 years of counseling seniors and their families through stressful transitions, we realized there was a need to help these individuals cope with the daunting task of moving. Not only would the senior be moving to a new environment, they would also have to take on the job of downsizing from a family home that held years of belongings and treasured memories. Although children were often available to help their parents, they were at a loss of how to begin. Also there were ongoing feelings that got in the way of making this a smooth transition. By bringing in an outside professional it was the best way to keep families from disagreeing and making this difficult task much more pleasant for all.
The Right Moves was created 11 years ago and provides a quality relocation service to seniors. Karen White, director, has a Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan in geriatric counseling and has spent many years enhancing the lives of the senior population. She has a great deal of energy and compassion and is committed to satisfying her customers.
